Second night confirmed.
Chris Helme is best known as the unmistakable voice of The Seahorses, the band that guitarist John Squire put together in 1996 after the break up of The Stone Roses.
The two came together in the mid 90s when Squire advertised for a singer. Helme's demo caught his ear straight away, full of grit, soul and melody in equal measure, and their pairing soon became one of the most talked about collaborations of the Britpop years.
The Seahorses' debut record Do It Yourself climbed to No.2 in the UK Albums Chart and delivered the Top 10 single Love Is The Law, along with favourites such as Blinded By The Sun and Love Me and Leave Me, the latter co-written with Liam Gallagher. Regular faces on Top of the Pops, the band appeared at major festivals including Glastonbury Festival and toured arenas across the UK and well beyond, earning a reputation as a powerful live act at the peak of Britpop.
In the years since, Chris has built a respected solo career stretching across three decades. His writing has grown into something deeply personal and emotionally resonant, weaving his Britpop roots together with acoustic warmth and reflective storytelling.
Following a busy year on the road with his latest album World Of My Own, he returned to the studio to record stripped back takes drawn from across his 30 year catalogue.
Forest For The Trees Vol 1 is the first in an ongoing series. It features beautifully reworked versions of classics such as Love Me and Leave Me, Standing On Your Head and You Can Talk To Me, alongside intimate readings of songs from World Of My Own. The recordings put voice, lyric and melody front and centre, uncovering fresh depth within each song.
Now he is bringing Forest For The Trees back out live. Expect an evening that is raw, soulful and honest. Thirty years into his career, Chris Helme remains an artist who genuinely connects with the room.
After the first night, he returns to The Hart for a second show on 30 July 2026, promising another very special evening.
