He started it all. Now he's coming back.
Nigel Clark played the very first Redditch Revival show, and it went down an absolute storm. An intimate hometown performance that set the tone for everything that followed. Now we're delighted to welcome the voice of Dodgy back to Whitetail @ The Hart on Wednesday 16 June 2027.
If you were there at the beginning, you'll know why this return means so much. If you missed that first night, here's your chance to see Nigel up close in Headless Cross, where his story began.
Born and raised in Headless Cross, Redditch, Nigel's passion for music started at a young age, working in a record shop at just 14 years old. After picking up a guitar in the mid 80s, he would go on to co-found Dodgy and find major success throughout the 1990s.
With Dodgy, Nigel enjoyed chart success and critical acclaim. The band's unique blend of indie and rock quickly garnered a loyal fanbase, and they became a staple of the UK music scene. Their single 'Good Enough' reached number 4 in the UK charts, while 'Staying Out for the Summer' and 'If You're Thinking of Me' both became top 20 hits. Their album 'Free Peace Sweet' climbed to number 7 in the UK album chart. The band made multiple appearances on Top of the Pops and performed at Glastonbury Festival in 1993, 1995 and 1997, cementing their place as one of the defining acts of the Britpop era.
Alongside his work with Dodgy, Nigel has pursued a solo career, releasing several albums and continuing to captivate audiences with his soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics. His solo work showcases his versatility as a musician, with influences ranging from folk to indie rock. Nigel's music continues to resonate with fans old and new, and he remains a respected figure in the British music industry.
